the joints are 9/16" 36 spline

9/16"= 0.563"
14m = 0.551"

Thats great info, splines and other dimensions are the same.

Not dirt cheap;

Flaming River sells joints that work in the shift linkage, st lesst. I csnt comment on the steering.

But if those fit they are cheaper than the FR UNITS...

Here is link on a discussion of u-joints and Flamming River u-joints, etc. It appears that the steering and shift linkage u-joints are the same.

The problem reported with the aftermarket FR u-joints is the setscrew clamping force and backing out, so thread lock them in.

The original design is a split joint with the through bolt which has much greater clamping force. On a full round shaft these are also more easily clocked on a spline and don't have to worry about the setscrew binding on splines and burring them.

Strangely the original style joints ARE available through Moss in England.
