Saturday I checked out a Pantera up for sale here in Fresno. I was impressed with what I found, impressed with the amount of receipts - back to 1983 - and the price is fair at $38K.

I did not drive the car but did start it - immediate start - and let it idle for 15 minutes with no apparent issues or noises. shut down clean with no dieseling. Sounds and feels healthy. I did not get under car to check for rust.

Car had sat for twelve years when sold five years ago to current owner. He had the car taken to Hall Pantera where they did what a garage derelict needs to have done - and more. Bill was around $10K. Until Saturday I had only heard of this white car somewhere in my part of town. He says he has put about 10K miles on it in the five years, oddometer now showing 45K miles.

Car impressions/observations:
upgrade brake M/C
headlights do not rise/switch action is not feeling correct
both windows work very well
all stock gauges work
turn signals not working/emerg flasher not working/horn does work
edlebrock intake - single plane??/ holley carb, unknown CFM
very good dual pod dash/interior with one flaw on engine hump vinyl
redone black velvet-like headliner
Hall GTS seats with hand pump up lumbar support
stock seatbelts/newer stereo with door / center kick panel speakers
aftermarket steering wheel - Carrera??
aftermarket headers/mufflers
all glass looked good
early stud-mount chrome grill and late rounded edges bumpers/chrome all looks good
\GTS style flares rivetted over stock metal fender flares with no cutting done
paint is good but tired with red/blue pinstripping from 70’s
one rust bubble lower rear corner pass. door/other rust areas appeared clean and solid
front valance has some dents, a little rust showing but not as bad as many I’ve seen
suspension has stock shocks - spacers still in?? - stock sway bars
aftermarket radiator - not aluminum - Hall??
front/tub carpet rough and worn
engine bay stock with ugly tar and wiring
aftermarket spreader bar
european tail lights
sugar scoop spoiler
Dodge Colt L/R electric rear view mirrors - not wired, ony manual operation

Car is being inspected Monday by a S Cal. buyer. Was looked at by a local buyer, who pulled up in a new Ford GT, prior to my Saturday viewing.

I predict this car will not last long at this price.
