I am pretty sure not all were, but wanted to check- were any (or all) of the Amerisport GT5Ss 50 state certified when new? If not, has anyone in California had trouble getting one to pass smog?

I believe all the GT5-S cars from Amerisport were in fact 50 state legal. Kirk Evans had the approval from the EPA.
The air box that fit over the carb was custom made with special damper flaps that open and closed by vaccuum. The exhaust also was custom fabricated to accomedate cats in the muffler housings. Wayne |

Kirk Evans- the man who started Amerisport, is still running the business in Ohio. Why not ask the guy responsible ?
