Agreed.

Forty years from now there will not be car people scrounging old barns, back lots and storage lockers looking for 2003 Honda's and 2006 Priuses.

They will be seeking, still '32 Fords, '55-'57 Chevys and even 2010 Camaros.

Cars with a soul. Hondas, Priuses, etc have no soul.

The problem is most modern cars are simply viewed as forms of transportation. There is nothing that captures the imagination and leaves you wanting to enjoy your ride. The volt is a step in the right direction, people will just be messing with batteries and extracting more power. But nothing will ever replace the sound of a combustion engine, and that is what we will truly lose when the wells dry up.

I had a brand new SS Camaro drive by me while walking around the Back To The Bricks car show last weekend. I couldnt even hear it running. I hope GM sees this and puts a little rumble into that car.

Ford advertizes that their engineers spent much time with the 05 to 09 Mustang GT in a sound chamber working on the exhaust sound to get the right growl. In stock form they do have a nice sound.

There are some "recent" cars that I would like to have. That means I might be looking through barns for them later:

Toyota Supra Mark IV
Mazda RX-7 - Third Gen
Buick Regal Grand National
Acura NSX
Nissan Skyline R34
Nissan GT-R
Chevy Corvette Z-06
Porsche 911 GT2

That list doesn't include any exotics as I don't think that is the point of this thread.

I suppose the bummer is that half of my list are cars that are 10-20 years old.

Robert, aside from a couple of those cars it's clear that you are different from most Pantera owners. Deep down you're just a kid. A tuner head rice rocket renegade!
