I see the ZMAX ads everywhere it seems. Even good ole (money grabbing, lawyer heavy) Carroll Shelby endorses it.

Fascinating. Thanks for the link. I had honestly wondered about the stuff. Since I put 'racing' blend in the Pantera, apparently enough 'zddp' to satisfy not investing in the supplement. But I wondered.

Then in the complaint, I read this...

That's from the official language. Read the last sentence again. Thanks Shel. And HE sues others for infringement. Sorry. I find egregious distaste and contradiction therein, however unpopular.

I find it rather ironic and completely fitting that CS would endorse "snake" oil.

The FTC went after them in 2001, in 2003 zMax published a letter stating that the dispute with the FTC had been resolved ...

Apparently they've toned down their claims and agreed to pay a total of $1M in aggregate to purchasers of zMax before early '01.

That doesn't mean I'm going to put additives into my engine.

For even more support for the old man's character, do some searching about how much of the $millions raised by his charities has ACTUALLY been disbursed to those in need. Pretty disturbing.

Something tells me that Shelby has been on both ends of lawsuits for some time now. As often the f*&kee as the f*&kor.

Kill all the lawyers? Then what? Go get a lead pipe, hire some mobster to settle your complaints, or just shut up and take it?

And what does CS have to do with Bruton Smith's mega corporation other than lend an endorsement. Do you think he actually went and did the research, or did he likely just take the word of the experts at the largest motorsport outfit in the US?

No, I'm sure he did no research. And he surely did take advice from others.

What is really sad here is CS was one of THE men in the auto world, and in his golden years, the folks that represent him are seemingly doing their best to see that his image is totally tarnished by the time he kicks the proverbial bucket.

As for the Shakespeare quote, of course lawyers do serve a valuable purpose to society. But a bunch of them are money-grabbing, me-first kind of guys, using the system for their own gain - not for the betterment of society.

Like in all professions and groups, the stench from a few begins to discredit the majority.

Nah, he didn't even take their "word" - he just took the only thing he's out to take - their "money" (or anyone's for that matter).
