Having never installed one or taken this off I look at the attachment method and am stumped.

What is the best way to dis-connect and then re-connect the cable at the carb? I'm looking to tighten the cable and I know the end will twist to lengthen and loosen.

Thanks for the help.

Dave

You just slide the clip forward to release it from the ball on the carb but your cable is missing the end and the spring. It should look like this http://www.panteraplace.com/Te...nts%20112101%201.jpg

Hey thanks Mike.

So forward being towards the firewall?

From your picture it's hard to tell > is there an end to the cable > and does the spring go inbetween the cable housing and the clip?

My Pantera never had the spring and when re-restored the vendor never asked when I got a new cable if I needed one. I have not seen your spring on most Panteras?

What exactly does that do/help?

Thanks again for the info.

The spring clip can slide either way but I find it easier to push it toward the front of the car. The clip has a ridge on it, which you can use as a push point.

I got my cable from Pantera Performance in CO and it looks identical to the original factory cable. There is a telescoping end on it with a spring that goes around the outside. The cable part is thicker than your cable. Notice that I added a second spring as a safety.
