I'm strongly considering to put some 180's on my car. Both for the looks of the exhaust-system, but mainly for the sound it makes.
To make the best choise if I go for one of these, I would like to know about all the vendors you know of selling 180's, and even if you know of a good specialist not nesseserily a Pantera vendor, but one that makes good parts. What system do YOU use, and what do you think of it? Pros and cons. |

Mine came with the car when I bought it. I believe they are an early handcrafted set from Hall Pantera.
Pros: •They look and sound fabulous •I haven’t measured the horse power but I’m sure there are gains •They look and sound fabulous •They look and sound fabulous Cons: •If you don’t have an aluminum heat shield attached to your rear deck you can kiss your paint good-by. •My valve covers don’t come off easily but they do come off. •I have a solid lifter cam and the adjustment process is warm! Did I mention that they look and sound fabulous? CB |

If I understand you right, you think they look and sound fabulous?
So do I, so I have got hold of some old Hall's too. They are on a boat from the states right now, so I have som stuff to do this winter. Hope they sound good |

I have Precision Proformance 180's, as Mark D has.
Negatives - a b!tch to change the plugs -milder tone at idle over reg headers (but I think my IR manifold smooths out my cam as well) -you may (will) have to cut/weld the collectors to make the mufflers exit perfectly -expensive Pro's -a sound like no other car (some like the sound, some don't. Much higher pitch) -Precision headers allow you to use the deck struts (BIG ++++) -Bling Remember, there is a HUGE sound difference whether you exit straight out or angle out the original holes. Also, I had the headers ceramic coated and I don't have a heat shield. No paint damage at all. Will |

The Hall's are angeled outward, but I will change them to exit straight back like in the yellow car.

speedlimit170,
I hear exactly what you're saying, but I think what we all really want to know is: How do they look and sound? Michael |

Anyone know what diameter tubing it is out on the collector part of the Hall's 180? Want to start to collect the pieces needed to build the rest of it..

My Hall 180s had 2 1/2" collectors.

Halls are angled so that they come out in the original exhaust tip location and so that you don't need to relocate the ac condenser.
I am quite sure that they were and are currently still built by Bob at Precision Pro-formance. I do believe that the size of the collector was picked to tune the rpm range. I have run different size collectors on my Mustang 351c and have found that the smaller collector makes a lot more torque or in other words the 3 and 3-1/2" collectors are torque killers. |

Mine do exit through the screen behind what used to be the area occupied by the A/C condenser. As I said, these were on the car when I bought it. If they were intended to be routed under the car the direction was diverted to its current location with modifications made to the mufflers. Not as clean as others I’ve seen but they still have the wow factor.
