Can anyone suggest a good “racing style” seat for my 72 Pantera.
I would like it to be adjustable with the ability to slide back and forward and tilt / recline. Thanks. |

Well.. you'll have that from time to time... espesilly on small jobs... |
Your not getting much response on your first post. Welcome to the commuity. Myself, I'm kinda partial to the c4 covette seat. Sparco makes several racing seats. The problem is you seem to want a lot of adjustibility.

I read about these seats (Classic Car Seats) on "the other" De Tomaso forum. They have a huge selection of styles, good prices and they look like they belong, in a Pantera.

Like many things Pantera related what sounds like a simple question on the surface has more depth to it.
What is your height and weight? Do you have drop floor pans, if so what style? Who drive's your car, just you or does it need to be flexible for others? The answers will affect your seat choice. Many seats are too wide for the Pantera, although those from the C4 Corvette are tried and tested, fit well in both aesthetic and functional terms and have enough bolster they hold you in place during some hard cornering. If by a 'racing seat' you want a seat that has cutouts for a 5 point harness, then many are non reclining. But then why do you need a reclining seat? There's a relatively simple and documented mod to the rear bulkhead panel to make the hump removable without removing the whole panel. I'd recommend you sit in as many Pantera's with different seats as you can prior to making a final decision. Julian |
