All,

after studying lots of pictures i am still not sure what the original color combination was ...
I mean the underbody, engine bay and front trunk. Were these areas painted in body color or were they black? What about the front valance?

I need to now that fast as my Pantera will be painted on wednesday ...

Cheers,
Andy

The original paint on my 72 pre-L (#4033) is as follows:

  • Underside of front trunk: body color
  • Engine bay, underneath the undercoating: body color
  • Underside of rear deck lid: flat black (I believe it to be original)
  • Lower valence (front, rear, and sides): Black, sprayed over the body color
  • Underneath interior carpet and up under the dash: body color

front valance, rocker panels and engine bay came from the factory in flat black.front trunk should have the felt material with a black vinyl pad for the battery to sit on.if you remove the old felt you can see the original factory color.
