I can find early unlit two speed wiper switches all over the place, but I cannot find the 73-74 lit wiper switch anywhere!

I'm guessing that this is a Lucas part also....but where else was it used???

Are there any other parts harder to find in these cars? Left handed smoke shifter? Smiler

What's the scoop on these silly wiper switches!

Mine ejected itself all over the carpet....doesn't appear to be broken on the front half that I have in my hand..... need to wait to pull out the back half until I can get at it when I pull the top dash out. Not enough play in the wires for some stupid reason.......which I don't know......!

If these were meant to be removed from the front, there should be enuf wire to allow you to actually remove them, not just pull them out and watch all the wires retract into the opening.....! IMHO.......

All fun.....all fun....all fun....!!!

Cheers!

You've previously owned a De Tomaso product.

And yet you still ask this type of question?

Steve, just because THIS De Tomaso is newer does not mean that it exhibits vastly improved construction techniques.

Pantera Life. Always having fun with new owners.

Which switch are you looking for? I see several on Wilkinson's website:

1st series wiper/wash switch (standard switch on my 72 pre-L Pantera).

https://panterapartsusa.myshopify.com/products/13016A

2nd series windshield washer switch.

2nd series windshield wiper switch.

I don't think I've seen a lighted wiper switch in a Pantera before.
Of course I didn't expect things to be better on a newer DeTomaso......but one could hope right! Insert music track...kumbayaa.... Wink

In my switch rocker, the area that says WIPE is a green see thru insert where light is allowed to backlite this section!

It is possible that secondary market switches got rid of this, yet retain all the function.

Need to get my dash apart the rest of the way so I can get access to the back part of the switch which is still hanging on the wires! The switch comes out just to the point where you can see the wires.....and short them to the dash! No I didn't do that....disconnected the battery!

Then I'll see what's up! Switch looks like it suffered from SEVERE lack of use! Grease on copper slide is green AND hard as stiff mud! Can't tell if back of switch is physically busted or not, but will be able to compare switch numbers and layout.

Thanks!!!!
Back to my dash removal/evap core extraction.....and putting Xmas deco's back up in the rafters!

My 74 has switches like that with the green plastic labelled. I may need a wiper one too. Are they available? I agree I haven't seen many of them. When was the change over made to these or away from these? I thought all single pod dash 73 and 74 cars had theses switches. Thought there would be more of them around.
Lucas 39 299 159 SA with metall clip on top for light bulb. I could not find the one with the green linse on top either; hence did my best to REBUILD it. Used the Tech notes section on rocker switch rebuild.
The Version from SVC has unfortunate a different size not matching the dash opening.
I replaced the metal clip for light by LED as this set up is easier to put back in as can be installed in ONE GO from front, vs fiddeling for the metal clipp from the back! A added obviously connectors to overcome the cable length issue from Mangusta Steve. Smiler
