My next project will be the air conditioning. The heater works fine but the air never worked. I still have the York compressor with every thing hooked up. I'm sure that the R12 is gone and one of the hoses running back to the condenser has a cut in it so both will be replaced. I have tried every combination with the controls and the ac switch and the fan never comes on. I "hot" wired it and it works so why wont it come on with the in dash swithes? Does the system have to be charged in order for the fan to turn?

Thanks all

The fan is not controlled by the A/C switch. It needs to be turned on in addition to the A/C switch when using the A/C.

These wiring diagrams should help:

Thanks John,

That makes sense. I never thought of turning on the fan switch in addition to the A/C switch.
