Hi Everybody,

Some weeks ago #1020 was for sale.

It's a push button, single slot campagnolo wheels one.

But what I never saw on a Pantera are the rear tail lights.

Someone know this car ?

Do someone know another Pantera with that lights ?

Thanks for post.

Salutations.

They look like Gr4 lights.

The amber portion of those lights are wider than the amber portion of the Group 4 lights, and there's a small chrome frame around the entire light as well as each of the 3 colored sections.

I wonder if that light was OEM to that Pantera, or if they were installed at a later date by an owner. I can't remember seeing that exact taillight before.

This car also has the later GT5/GT5-S wipers with the little air foils, and different side marker lenses.

Those are standard Euro GTS side lights.

I have a set in the garage. I'll post closeups later.

As for the tail lights, they are new to me also.

I found where the tail lights are comming from :
RENAULT 16 type TS.

I ask a french RENAULT specialist and he told that the Renault R16 TS changed for these specific tail lights in september 1970.

But I dont know if those are original on a Pantera.

The "Powered by Ford" plate is on the left side and it appears there may be some sort of script on the right side of the lid. Was this standard on early cars?

On this picture we can see the specific early "DeTomaso Pantera" logo but on the deck lid.
I suppose a precedent owner move it to this place as the "powered by FORD" logo ?

These were used on Euro GTS cars.
The pair I have seems to be not a high production-run item, but instead probably made in small numbers at De Tomaso - or a small sub contractor. Welding for the mounting studs is crude and uneven.

They consist of a steel plate that fits inside the usual chrome, plastic side marker light buckets. The light assembly itself I have seen in other places; it was I believe, a small side indicator light. Carello.
