My angle drive is broken. The tabs are busted off. Can I drive the car with the angle drive removed while I wait for a new one or should I put it back on?
Thanks

Yes. As long as you don't remove the bolt that holds the gear housing into the trans.

You may get a small but messy lube leak from inside the stub where the angle drive fastened. As Ron said, that little 10mm bolt directly below the angle drive retains the extension gear-shaft for the speedo inside the trans. Removing the bolt will allow the extension shaft and gear to drop inside the box, and there's not much room in there for a 3" long piece of hardened steel! Major damage will result if the shaft drops and you attempt to drive the car! THere should be a small tongue on the end of that extension-drive showing that spins the angle-drive. If there's no tongue showing now, DO NOT DRIVE the car!
