I am "doubling down" on this thread, to pack the maximum excitement in.

The Southern AZ Panteras, and our sister organization, the Fun Italian Automobiles of Tucson (F.I.A.T. Club) sponsored a pair of runs up Mount Lemmon. The town up there is called Summerhaven, and it is a welcome respite from the blistering heat of the Tucson summers.

For the 4th of July parade, we had 4 participants:

  • Chuck and Family - '74 Toyota Landcruiser
  • Dave C. - '67 Ferrari 275 GTB 4-Cam
  • Axel - '15 Mini-Cooper Convertible
  • Stephen - '86 Corvette C4

It was a blast. Dave was led by Herbie the Love Bug, but the Ferrari made a splashing statement.

The FIAT Club was the hit of the parade. It was like one of those old-time parade you participated in when you were growing up in Northfield, Ohio....

Then on 9 July, we had the "real" run up Mount Lemmon. Unfortunately for both the Pantera and the F.I.A.T. Clubs, the Porsches dominated the participation with two.

    We had:

  • Chuck - '73 Pantera L
  • Dave K. - '82 Fiat Sport Spyder 2000 (Fiat 124)
  • Axel - '14 Porsche R4 Cayenne Hybrid
  • Kurt - '86 Porsche Rennsport Carrera
  • Dave C. - '72 Ferarri Daytona

Groovy pictures Chuck. These folks are lucky to have you organizing these outings for them.

Thanks, Guys -

This is what this hobby is all about... Right?

Even the technical mission of PI (which I fully support and enjoy) is only in support of 1 thing... Driving our cars!

I love it. There is nothing better than getting out on the open road.

Regards -

Chuck / Rocky
