"Does anyone know what the thread is on the end of the speedo cable that joins to the gauge?"

The threads on the speedometer appear to be M16-1.0.

I can't find the post, but someone posted that the Speedbox "VW Thread-On" cable option fits the Veglia speedo. Call Speedhut to confirm.
