I was thinking the PCV used its own filter on the outside of the carb air cleaner.

the other emmission "vent" I thought of was the charcol canister and I think it should be "inside" the carb air filter. Shop manual doesn't show though.

I just visited the CJ Parts site and saw this filter does not have a "body" for beyond the filter element, SO, as Garth first replied, it would be used for PVC
