Big heavy dumb battery

I pulled the battery out to get the clutch master cylinder out and as I was lifting it out over the fender, the unthinkable happened, battery acid spilled on the fender after color sanding and polishing the 35 year old paint job and having my paintless dent guy remove around 20 dings ( it actually looks pretty decent ) Well, if you can believe it the acid didn't do squat. I wash it off within seconds and no damage, I couldn't believe it. I'm not putting that giant heavy Champion battery with a open vent hole near this car again so, where and what light weight battery is every body using?
