Chrome (re)plating the door handle and lock surround

Just pulled out the original doorhandle tubs as the driver side had a crack and the plastic in general looked milky. I want to send the handles and the area around the lock cyliner out to be replated in chrome.

Does anyone know how I remove the lock cylinder so that I can send the surrounding area in?

Lastly-the little spring that sits om the metal rod is origional and looks like it should have broke yesterday. If anyone has a line on where to buy new springs it would be greatly appreciated.
