to remove the lock cylinder from its housing you need to drive out the very small spring pin that attaches the cast golden piece to the lock cylinder.
some of the vendors sell a new spring and metal pivot rod, along with new plastic buckets.

make sure you take multi-angle photos of each lock during the process, notably the how the little spring on the lock cylinder is attached

Larry, thank you so much for the guidance. I did not realize that there was a difference between left and right. Fortunately, I did take photos and kept them separated so I should be good.
I already purchased the plastic buckets that came with rods from PIM actually. Do you know where I can get the spring from that sits on the rod?
also, any guidance on how to drive out the small spring pin on the lock cylinder? Thanks!!
