The original GT5/5S tires were P7’s. I believe the old tires were V rated and I had heard the new ones are Y rated. Like the Pirelli’s, the Yokohama AVS tires came in the same size as the Pirelli’s, but are no longer made. On my 5S, I have the old P7’s on the front and P Zero’s on the back. I plan on putting the new P7’s on my 5S once I finish the restoration on my 1973 L, soon hopefully. Before Pirelli came out with their updated P7’s, the Michelin TB was the only option for the wide body cars for a matched set. I told a friend of mine about them a couple of years ago and he purchased a set from Longstone tyres. He thought that they had very good grip and was pleased with them. Now that Pirelli has come out with the new P7’s, I will go in that direction.
Thanks Pirelli and Longstone Tyres for bringing them back to the market.
