Hall radiator help. Do I remove top petcock?

I got a Hall radiator b/c mine was 50 years old.

Do I need to replace the top petcock with a breather hose? Makes sense I would, but wasn't sure.

Also who knows the diameter and thread type of the thermostat spots on the Hall? TIA!
