I guess Pantera owners are fiscally responsible

For a few months, I have been looking for a cosmetically nice, mechanically sorted out Pantera to buy in the SoCal area; ideally in the San Diego area.

One important requirement is that it has to be quicker then the Boxster S that I used to own (therefore the Pantera must have some engine "enhancements") and it must also be priced cheaper then a nice 996 Turbo.

My goal is to purchase a Pantera in the $35K-$45K price range. A nice 996 Turbo coupe can be had in the low fiftys.

I have owned 3 Porsches and would be thrilled to own a 996 Turbo.

However, I would be more thrilled to own a Pantera.

There doesn't seem to be any fiscally irresponsible Pantera owners. No Pantera owners are saying: "must sell now", or, "I need the cash". It seems that for me to get a Pantera that I would like at my price point, I would almost need to find a desperate seller.

I am not ready to go the 996 Turbo route yet.

I want a Pantera bad enough that I may have to raise the amount of money that I am willing to spend for a nice, sorted out car.

However, you reach a point where a nice 996 Turbo in the same price range is just too attractive to pass up, especially since they are filled with nice safety features, such as numerous airbags and very robust A/C systems.

If anybody knows of a nice car, in my price range, please let me know.
