I totally agree with that. We had a frind of the families that used to let me fly the skymaster for fuel. We had fun with it but soon went back to renting the C-182. It was a little slower but was cheaper to rent then it was to just pay fuel for the Skymaster. That was 10 years ago!

C-182 is not glorious or fancy but is a great truck of an airplane. I have taken them to grassy fields and they don't care abit.

I have a couple thousand hours in C-310's. I love them. The one's we flew the most were the IO 550 bearcat conversions. Far better then turbo charged. Stay away from the C-310 turbo. Ok airplane but Turbo only real benifitial when your alone and want to put on the oxigen mask. Other then that it's just finike and higher maintenance. Hard to keep the props in sync.

The C-310 is a great truck to and good for all around icing conditions. Problem is insurance has skyrocketed on them. Price is coming down because with the increase price of insurance, many are just going to King Airs. Cheaper the twin, the bigger the problems.

I would love to get a Pits or Decathelon to lease back to the FBO.

Hard to beat the C-182 for basic transortation.
