ignition switch and any primary (12v / low voltage) connections in the engine bay near where you where "fussing".

details, what is the trigger system inside what type of distributor in your Cleveland?

put a test light clipped onto the coil + terminal and see if you can replicate the no start condition and note if there's power to the test light or not. then trace backwards through the harness to the battery. hopefully something simple like a loose connection inside a molded plug or spade and not a hidden wire break.
