P.S... Unfortunately there is no real way to spin up and bench test a distributor. So, if you're certain the hot is hot and the ground is grounded ( grounds are the root of all evil ) and the spark is nonexistent or is sharp on and then sharp off, you have start thinking MSD. I think most guys put the MSD boxes inside the car to help keep them cool. You could toss in a $69 Chinese copy for confirmation and run it until the MSD gets back. Definitely worth 69 bucks to run the car for 60/90/120 days while you're waiting...
