Hi Steve,

I had a little bit of remorse after reading your post. You definitely can hear a difference if you hit the wheel very close to the crack, but a few cm away (1 inch or so) you can't hear anything.

Because the crack is so close to the bend, it may not have that big of an acoustic impact.
