Reply to "Michelin XWX vs. Pirelli P4000"

I prefer the look of the XWX´s, but am a bit worried about their performance compared to current Pirellis. What did your friend mean by "He thinks they are better, and more suitable for the general speed of todays traffic"?

P.s. A very knowledgable source told me that the right answer is Pantera 8" wheels and Pirelli P600, which might be on the cards after I´ve finished the restoration...
