My new project car #2695 has L bumpers ???

Hi All,

I have a new 1972 Pantera project car #2695. It is a 20 year old father/son project that stalled. The car is completely disassembled. It came with a set of L bumpers and thus I assumed that is was an L car especially since it has the cutouts in the body for the big bumpers mounts. I was perplexed that holes in the body for small 71/72 bumpers had been welded over and dismissed them as a change done at the factory. I am now aware that the first L car was #4269, and I am now surmising that someone maybe felt left behind and switched from small bumpers to L bumpers. Below is a pic of two of the bumper mounts that came with the car, perhaps from a car much later than 1972. Does anyone recognize these bumper mounts? Are for the front or rear, and what year?
