I guess it depends on the enthusiast or collector. I've seen other brands like Shelby's being restored from little more than a serial number. There are still guys there discussing the Playboy Shelby and also looking for Jim Morrison's car. I will say though just as old Carroll did himself, their enthusiasts really promote the brand. Pantera's still remain behind in that facet.
I think there is still significance in what the car was, and although it is nothing of its former self, I am glad that it has survived and has not been lost or crushed.
