The dimmer switch that is going in my car is a Pollak Corp. rheostat. It is just a rheostat, it does not have a totally off portion on the switch. The part number is 52-262 and it can be purchased from Wes-Garde Components Group, Inc, in Carol Stream, IL (630) 653-1460. The only reason I bought it was to get away from the electrical gremlins that seem to permeate the 50's and 60's designed componentry that is in the cars. The cost to me was $55.00 with shipping and tax -- and it should never fail again or get hot.
