Rumours on refurbished 351 engines on new Pantera in early 80's

Hello everybody, i am a new member to this forum! I do have a question : a was talking to a person in Europe who is restoring his second 1982 Pantera; he claims that in those years De Tomaso was putting into its new cars overhauled 351 engines ( with +60 overbore, +20 on the rods in one of the cars, claiming engine never was pulled .. etc.) , is that story real or just a rumour? I am honestly a bit of surprised .. and it was first time i heard this story, but again i'm more into the 60's ealry 70's Ford stuff .. Any real facts much apreciated !
