Seat Adjuster Lever/Knob - Inboard or Outboard???

My 1972 Pantera (Feb '72 build date) currently has the seat track adjuster lever/knobs on the outboard side of the seat by the rockers. I have seen other Panteras with the lever/knob inboard by the console.

What is correct?
