Stroker or supercharged

I am getting ready to pull the engine on my 73 pantera, it is the orignal 4V 351C
I would like 500HP only I would like it to sound some what mild, not stock just not crazy loud. No fire breathing dragons.
I have been reading a lot on these forums about going to a 408 stroker, which sounds promising.
Can someone who has done this suggest a higher quality kit, if I choose to go this direction
Another option which I have been reading about is the Paxton supercharger.
These seem to deliver on the HP, but what about fit.
Is is possible to shoe horn one of these bad boys into a pantera? and not give up the A/C (I live in Florida)
Can a supercharger be dialed back so as not to over stress the block?
I would like to hear some feed back on which way may be the best direction to go, best bang for the buck without destroying the block.
