Reply to "Tach/Speedo gauge dimmer does nothing, gauges pretty dim"

Pulled the dimmer out today and checked it. Range is 4 to 5 ohms and the detent is no continuity. Does that sound normal? Weird that it has no effect on illumination since it does SOMETHING.
I have 6 of Jon's LEDs sitting on the bench waiting for me.
