Reply to "Voltmeter replacing Ammeter"

You can get a signal for your voltmeter from the pink wire that feeds switched +12V to the gauges. All you'll need is a short length of (preferably) pink wire with a female .250 spade terminal at one end (goes to the voltmeter) and a 'piggyback' .250 spade terminal (goes to the pink wire terminal on an adjacent gauge in your stack).

So you'll wind up with three wires attached to the back of your new voltmeter, black to ground the case, yellow/black for the gauge light, and pink for a voltage signal.
