Reply to "What is the difference?"

Pre-Ls were built from early '71 to about August of '72. They had two different (in detail) types of small split chrome bumpers front and rear. The "L" model from Sept '72 to '74 had big black bumpers, the front being rubber-on-steel. The '73-74 "L" had the early single-pod dash and an outside gas filler door in the left 'gill' while the late '72 L had a 2-pod dash and a gas fill under the rear decklid. There were a multitude of internal differences between the two but these are the main visible changes. Just to cap this, the "L" model sold in Europe had small black-painted bumpers similar to the chromed units used on pre-Ls, snigle-pod dashes and all the other U.S l changes. Does your friend's '72 have 1 or 2-piece front bumpers? Black or chrome? Welcome to the wonderful world of Italian limited-production autos!
