PI Member Kevin Hubby of Phoenix, Arizona has purchased from a private party, a superb example of a GT/4 that was built by Hall Pantera some years ago but in tremedous condition. The engine was aluminum. Here is what Kevin said about his purchase:
Hi Dave,
I paid $71,000.00 for the car. It is a 72 Hall Super Pantera #20 with just over 3100 miles on it. Part of the sales agreement included a complete overhaul of the engine as he had a valve train issue (and probably a bad lobe on the cam). Otherwise the car was in perfect shape. Of course any car that has been mostly parked for 20 years, has to be gone through and refresh hoses, belts, tires, etc.. But the body, paint, and interior were perfect!
Thanks, your friend, Kevin

I don't have a photo to attach at this time. Maybe Kevin will send us one. We continue to believe that the Pantera market is moving strongly upwards. I saw another Hall Super Pantera on the first page of ads in Hemmings for the BJ Auction in Scottsdale. I am making a prediction that this car will move the market even higher, assuming it gets on the block at a decent day and time. Dave

I know Kevin personally, he is the President of our POCA Arizona chapter and I am the VP.

Heck, 71 grand is just a drop in the bucket for Kevin, nothing but lunch money....Just joking.....

Seriously, I've seen the car in person and it is an extremely nice car. Well worth the money he paid for it....

He and it will be a force to be reckoned with next year at Pahrump....

More to come on this beauty.

Right now the car is at VPC in Phoenix Arizona where Mike & Les are completing some details on it.

Kevin hopes to have it out of the shop in December. When it comes out, I'll be taking a bunch of pictures of it, we'll be writing a story on it and it will appear in hopfully the Spring issue of PI Magazine...

It truly is a very fine car.

I think it would be really cool to see that group 4 on the track.
My name is Doug Kennedy. I live in Derby, Kansas. I am the individual that Kevin bought the car from. I hope he is a happy car owner. I have a new delta wing for sale if anyone is interested. I was going to put it on the car but decided to sell it. I'm asking $400.00. Thanks. Doug and Shari Kennedy 316-788-5967
Hey Doug,
Glad to hear you sold your car! I'm sure Kevin will be as happy with his purchase as I was back in '99 when I bought #5042 from you. If I could have afforded to move up to this car without threats of " I'll make you a Happy Single Guy!!" from wifey, it would have been mine before Kevin got it! Are you looking for another Pantera now??

Bob
Well. you devil you! Now you've got two other cars I'd kill for!! Just may have to schedule a trip back down to see you next year so I can "experience" whatever new toys you still have. Of course I'll definitely have to leave my checkbook at home. Enjoy!

Hey there Ron. Good to hear that Group 4 is in "dry" AZ and with a good owner. Looks like a nice car. On my next AZ trip I would like to see those 2 Group 4s, but hope it will be warmer...I am still shaking from that cold morning. Or I will need to bring some additives for the coffee to help keep all of us warm.
