Does the carburetor on the goose come oriented backwards from the factory? I just noticed that the carburetor on my goose is turned backwards with the primaries to the rear of the car. I guess that it was done to clear the jackshaft. I was wondering if the previous owner had to do this to clear the added demon's vacuum secondary diaphram housing or if this the way they came.

Well Dennis, I don't know much about gooses or nothing, but I would say if it is an autolite carb on a cast iron manifold, then yep, it is probably the way it was made. But if it is a holley set on an aluminum intake of any kind, it is aftermarket and he had to do that to get it to work the linkage.
It's a demon on the stock intake. From just looking at it, I would guess that the carb was flipped so that the vacuum secondary diaphram housing would clear the jackshaft. I was just wondering if the stock autolite carb was oriented the same way or if this was an owner mod to fit the aftermarket carburetor on.
Actually the pull is relatively the same, it just connects to the bottom of the bracket instead of the top. Looks odd but pulls smoothly. A couple of others emailed me that their's are the same but all have modified carburetors and don't know if it came originally reversed or not. Is it an original setup or a modified one to fit aftermarket carburetors? We have to wait for someone with an original setup to respond to find out.
My car is as near stock as any goose I've seen (which is only 4 or 5), but it has the primaries in back, and the secondaries in front. As I think about it I am pretty confident it is stock as I had to replace the crappy stock throttle cable after I bought it. The stock cable is too stiff and once it gets a kink right where the cable enters the jacket you now have a binary (on or off) throttle.
