Yes there was a connection. I think Lee Iacocca was running Chrysler at the time. I vaguely remember reading about it in a book. I think Iacocca continued the relationship with A. DeTomaso, from when Iacocca was with Ford. I think the Plymouth was a compact and only lasted a short time, like a year or two. It was not radical but rather kind of plain Jane but I am not an authority, just trying to help out from my deteriorating brain.
There was more to it than that. There were a few Panteras that had Dodge V-8s in them installed by the Dodge Boys, remember them? I believe they were turbos also. If some one hits the search button, you will probably get some photos. I remember that the Pentastar logo was on the car. I think it was in the grill where the DeTomaso logo normally was. There was some Shelby connection. Does any one remember the exact story?
