Ed.....

I agree Jeff. What ARE you waiting for?

That is one outstanding looking car. The miles almost put me off though - I'd imagine many thousands to be spent in upgrading dormant systems. No matter, it's some sculpture!

Expert? Not me, but my theory is that people who bought a Mangusta to flip are now trying to cash in before the collector market completely crashes. If you "need" a Mangusta in your garage, I would wait a few more months as I doubt prices will climb.

Money ? What Money ?

Ed,
You own a dealership just put the Goose on floor plan.

Adams,
I know you need the Viper as your driver, just sell the
"F" car !

Jeff

You're not helping! (You mean F-CarS, just added a 328 while prices are down a bit.)

With some Mongeese on the market, you might want to swoop in yourself.

Mark Charlton makes a good point (for a Canadian anyway!)that there are likely to be some decent buys for the next few months. Perhaps as good a time as any to tuck one away. I trust these more than the stock market right now.

Adams:
Keep in mind that I'm 50% American, 50% Brit and am not born Canadian, so I'm bound to make the odd good point.

On the 328: excellent daily runabout as long as you don't get challenged to race by a Honda Civic SIR.

Wink
A lot of reasonable but not spectacular Mangustas have been bought in the last year with the apparent intention of a quick high-profit resale.

8Ma938 (formerly yellow and now blue) sold a bit more than a year ago on eBay for $47K and it's now on the market with what looks like just a paint job for $125K. 8Ma518 was on the market for $50K last year and I wasn't quick enough. Now it's for sale in Europe for 70K euro (I think). Same for 8Ma954 which I also just missed at around $60K was bought for a quick-flip and has been sitting for 6 months on offer at $90K.

Guys selling average cars at huge mark-ups or otherwise high prices have now, IMHO, missed the boat and it will be quite a while before they see the kinds of profits they are seeking. That said, $150K for a perfect, original and very low-mileage Mangusta will probably look like a very fair price after all this economic devastation is over. I hope so anyway because otherwise I'll never be able to justify the time and cost to restore mine!

If I were in that circle of friends and offered that car at that price, I would have had a tough time not caving in Big Grin I am REALLY fond of Mangusta's!!

How is it? Cosmetically? Mechanically? Do 'systems' all work?

gorgeous in orange!

A 328? Ok, now you're just getting silly. Big Grin

Hey, 328s can actually be driven! Seriously, I can get in it, close the door, start the car and DRIVE OFF!

And it is BLACK with tan, just like the other one. I didn't mean to be that cute with my little matched set (would've preferred blue actually) but that's the way it worked out.

Did the goose sell? Anyone we know get it? Doesn't Mark Charlton (who is really Canadian, no matter what he says) need ANOTHER one???

Well, yes, I NEED another one, so that I can have one to actually DRIVE before the turn of the next century. Although actually I think I really "need" a dark blue F355 Spyder for the same reason you "needed" the 328. Wink

That color is just terrific on there too.

But wait, I really did 'need' the 328... so I can drive it while my Pantera stays pampered all winter.

Man, just put some gas in the Goose and go cruising. Probably only needs a battery and air in the tires (That's what people always tell me whenever I'm looking at a 3 year restoration).

Back to the original post, did anyone on here buy the Goose, any Goose in question? We need someone to support the economy.

Another "F" car ?

Did you run out of projects on the Pantera ?

I hope the 328 is the correct color for an Italian car.............RED !

Pics please of the "Toys" .

Jeff

Sorry, I half overlooked your post (not intentional, but your Obama photo distracted me.) I won't be out of projects if I live 12 lifetimes, plus another 3 on "credit" promised to me by the star of your avatar. I think that's what he said anyway.

I really should take photos of the guys all together. I don't have a 'real' collection like some people, but I do drive them. (Took the Viper to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl where Alabama was treated unfairly by the scoreboard. I may sue.) You're right though; a photo of this oddball assortment might be fun.

This thread keeps getting ADD and I'm trying to stay on topic - Who owns the Mangusta? Did anyone pony up? Please, your country needs your money so we can give it to GM.
