Folks, I'm looking for a pair of used Ducellier motors for 8MA1010 of the old '3-wire' style, vice the '2-wire' version that was fitted to most Panteras. I understand new (2 wire) replacements are relatively easy to adapt and have a lot more power, but I'm mainly interested in keeping things as original & simple as possible. If you've done a swap already and want to sell your old ones, please let me know. Working units would be prefered, but repairable might be OK as well. Regards, Nate Stevens.

Quick update on this. I have found a pair of 3-wire motors BUT also discovered that late Goose did not use the '3-wire' Ducellier motors - they use the 2-wire, exactly like a Pantera. Not sure when the switch was made. I heard Steve L had the older type in his '69; my #1010 was built c. Sep '70.

One possible failure item on these motors is the magnets - they are adheared to the inside of the housing and if they choose to pop loose you have a problem. The motor may run a short time but the magnet is then free to move around and that leads to a jam. It's a pain but the motors can be disassembled and magnets re-glued to the housing. There are modern replacements avaialable, but repair may be an option if you experience trouble! Regards, Nate S
