Larry, my understanding is you can make the entire monocoque carbon fiber if you have thick enough sections to duplicate the strength of the steel. Imagine your chasis weighing 45 pounds instead of the 850 pounds of the all steel body. Also it will never rust. Accident repair will be more expensive though, and make sure you don't pull a Mad Dog and catch it on fire. Carbon fiber doesn't like fire at all.
