Pull up a chair.... there are many things that can cause low-speed overheating, but without seeing your car, I'll suggest two of the most common:1)- inadequate air movement thru the radiator in heavy traffic. In a word, the stock electric fans are woefully small, each blowing about 300 cubic feet per minute of air at two circles of radiator some 11" in diameter. What you need are two electric fans that move about 900 ft/min of air apiece, and it works better if the fans are behind the radiator, with a full shroud, so the fans are sucking air thru the entire surface of the radiator. Many of the usual Pantera vendors including P.I Motorsports sell such a shrouded dual-fan rig. You'll need to extend the inlet & outlet pipes on the radiator to clear the new shroud & fans, but the radiator need not be laid down to install the shroud. Do NOT use plastic tie-thingys that go thru the radiator core to fasten the shroud: they will saw holes in your water tubes. Use metal brackets. 2)- another common error is the wrong thermostat: the 351C takes a specific thermostat for only that engine. a 351C thermostat has a small copper 'hat' on its base that, when hot, closes off a warm-up port in the block. Other thermostats don't have this blockoff plug, so they allow some 25% of the water in the engine to totally bypass the radiator, resulting in overheating. Try those two & let us know how things work.
