1971 Panteras had an M code motor, 1972 through 1974 Panteras had a Q code motor.

So to answer your question, your 1974 motor was called a 4V, but is essentially a 351 Cobra Jet with smaller 2V size valves in the large port 4V heads, dished pistons taking the motor to 8.0:1 compression ratio, a cobra jet camshaft retarded by 4 degrees, exhaust gas recirculation, 750 CFM Autolite 4300D spread bore carburetor.
Charlie,

Welcome to the family. You're almost right in between two POCA chapters there in Orinda.

PCNC meets on the last Thursday of every month at Coco's Restaurant in Sunnyvale.

Hello Garth,
Thanks for dropping me a line. You have a beautiful car! Your web site is outstanding. I purchased a red, 1974 model. The cooling system, engine and braking has been upgraded. Paint is very decent. I would most likely cruise to Sunnyvale for meetings, though the traffic is nasty. Hope to see you in the future!
Charlie
