Does anyone know if the 285X40X15 tires are still made by anyone?
And if not I wonder if we could get someone to make some if we could arrange a group buy.

I looked every where and called several of the tire companies and no luck.
I received an e-mail from Cludia from the DeTomaso factory. I was told they could locate some but they would be 500.00 each plus shipping and duty from Italy.
Easier to change wheels and go with the larger sizes.

I have contacted all the major tire manufacturers over the past three months and asked if 285 x 45 x 15 are ever going to be made again. The answer from all of the manufacturers was 'we have no plans to produce this size of tire in the future'. So unless one of the major motor manufacturers decides to put this size on a new model of car, they will never again be manufactured. As to putting together an order - they would want at least 1000 tires to be ordered and paid for up front. Thats $100,000. Forget it. Go for 17".
