SOLD PENDING FUNDS
For Sale 1973 Detomaso Pantera #4629
This is a very original bone stock car. It had sat in a warehouse for better part of 25 years. The car has undergone restoration to factory original specs. The car shows 28,910 miles and I believe that to be correct. The car is matching numbers with 4 bolt main with original factory engine tag. (even has the original carb with the original carb tag) This car is “investment quality” at a show and go price.
Body The body was sanded and blocked but not over done. The original curves and factory lines are very sharp. The original body was extremely clean. Photo documentation before restoration is on Provomo and I photo documented the work done.
Body repainted in original yellow color using urethane paint. All trim and glass was removed for paint. Radiator, fans, headlight buckets and motor all removed for painting. All trim polished or sanded and painted before installing. Floors, sub frame all very solid. Wheel pearches had small metal repairs done on each side (all professional welding to factory shape and all photo documented). There are no soft spots or rust anywhere on this car.
Front trunk cleaned, new carpet installed. Wipers work as new. All accessories work as new. Headlight motor rebuilt and replaced.
Engine and trans were removed and engine bay was cleaned up but kept original in all respects. Door window regulators were replaced with upgraded units. All lights sockets cleaned, connections disassembled and clean, all lights working as new.
Interior Original carpet with very little ware showing, New floor mats with Detomaso logo, Original seats, door panels (uncut) and dash and console in perfect shape. Even still has the original shifter knob with good leather (how rare is that) All gauges and instruments work as new. Original head liner still in place. All interior lights work including door lights. Owners manual in glove box. Also have factory service book. Buyer will have the choice of keeping the Nardi steering wheel that is currently installed or if he chooses I will install the factory steering wheel.
Suspension Upper and lower “A” arms and hubs were removed, bead blasted and painted. Coil over’s were disassembled bead blasted and painted as original. Original stickers were left in place. Steering rack removed, bushing replaced, cleaned, painted and replaced. Both tie rod ends have been replaced with new units. All 4 brake calipers were disassembled, cleaned, new pistons and seals installed, painted. Stainless brake lines installed, new master cylinder installed. System flushed and Dot 5 fluid installed. Emergency brake adjusted, works fine. Original Radiator flushed and painted, original tubes bead blasted and painted. All Hoses replaced using Gold Strip hoses. Original campy rims 15 x 7 fronts and 15 x 8 rears. Tires have been replaced and show no signs of dry rot and almost no ware. New center caps. Bumpers are straight and clean. Air Conditioning is all there and will be working at time of sale, again all original.
Engine Original matching number 4 bolt main engine (with original engine tag) and original trans. Engine was removed, heads removed, valve springs replaced, valve job done, intake removed bead blasted and painted. Original carb removed and rebuilt and has original carb tag. Water pump replaced with new unit. New belts installed. Exhaust manifolds were replaced with original Anza Exhaust. All exhaust is original with new tips. Engine reassembled and painted, all photo documented. Original air cleaner bead blasted, painted and replaced. Buyer will have a choice of original exhaust or brand new ceramic headers and brand new big bore Anza (factory look) exhaust never installed.
Trans has been cleaned up and detailed. New clutch installed. Clutch fluids have been flushed and replaced with Dot 5 fluid. Shifts very smooth with all syncros working as new. Fiberglass trunk tub has been recovered. Comes with factory spare and inflate can but no tools.
