All,

I have converted 2511 to a new HVAC system using R134a.

However, as I am prone to do, I have hoarded quite the supply of R12.

I have a couple dozen of the small 12-14 oz cans, 12+ of the 4 ounce oil+recharge cans and a virgin, still sealed 30 pound tank. All are genuine R12, not blended or an inferior substitute.

I’m not going to give them away for free but trust me, I will make you a deal. I can ship the small cans in flat rate USPS boxes. The tank will present more of a shipping problem.

Please contact me with a PM or email  if you have any interest.

I have a dual recovery / recharge system, but hadn't looked recently to see what a tank of R12 fetches, looks like ~$1,000, compared to $120 for R134a. I've helped a couple local Pantera owners out, very tempted but that's a lot to have sitting around.

Large tank is definitely gone and pretty sure the two dozen smaller cans have been spoken for. $1000 for a tank seems to be on the high side based on recent sales on eBay.  The cans seem to hover  around $25 a piece for quite a few years now.

At some point I expect the price to crash as conversions and attrition reduce the number of vehicles still using it.

ALL SOLD‼️‼️

For those in need craigslist usually has sellers each summer and eBay always has sellers. There is a legal restriction on resale of Freon but some eBay sellers, and apparently eBay, don’t appear to be concerned with that legality.

Please avoid using substitutes such as freeze 12 as they will contaminate your system. Most shops will use a sniffer prior to any service and will decline service on a contaminated system as it will damage their equipment.

BTW, There is nothing illegal about using R12; there are just restrictions on making new Freon.
