Have a problem with the microswitch of my headlights mechanism. Lights go down properly but do not open up until I gently "shake" the wire connections on the microswitch. So most likely there is something wrong with the switch internals....
Can the switch be opened without destroying the internals?
What would be a good source for the switch? Any parts cross references with other manufacturers?
Would be perfect to find the switch over here in Europe....
Thks a lot for your comments!

Hi Wolfgang,
I just replaced one of mine on the copper car. Got it from Wilkinson. It's not in the EU however....but I'm sure international shipping isn't an issue for them. If I remember correctly it was $27.

I have never tried to open one up. So, can't give feedback on that. My logic is that if the contacts are acting goofy..it's best to just replace it.

Well Done Wolfgang. The inner workings could not be more simple, clean contact points, some anti-corrosion inhibitor. You can easily use either some soft copper rivets or bolt & nuts to secure the assembly together and...it's BRAND NEW!!!...Mark
