Re: brake pads

3989's brakes have taken to squealing. The pads look plenty thick, but they squeal nonetheless, especially when cold. The right front also seems to be sticking a bit, since it continues to squeal a little just after brake release. Rotors look OK.

I was thinking of putting in new pads all around. Any suggestions for a good "street" pad?

Porterfield RS4s. Big improvement over stock. No squeaks and minimal dust. Note fronts and rears are not the same.

As Mark mentioned, the Porterfield R4S pads are the way to go and I run a set myself. As I understand it, if you call Porterfield mention you are buying pads for a Pantera and ask for the rear pads with the E-brake tab already in place, otherwise you have to fab one up yourself. Last I heard just asking for the "Pantera specific" rear pads with the tab was a no-cost upgrade.

I got a set too last summer, and I when I mentioned they were for a Pantera they already knew what they had to do. And yes, it was at no cost.

Per Porterfield the e-brake tabs for Panteras are now standard.
