Congradulations and Welcome!

the photos on Provomo are RED!
At least the interior, engine bay and wheels looks near original.

as far as going back towards original "chrome" look or a black accent, you need to go with your wishes.

Maybe start with a few changes that will make an effect at a time.
first for me would be black rockers or a black decal below the seam.
I'm in the same boat. 17K mile car, painted yellow. All the stainless is painted black, even the bezels for the side lights. Original color was white and I don't know what to do? My idea is to go as original as possible, but I like yellow more than white? Not knocking any color of any car, but my preference is yellow? What wins, the originality or preference. I bought this car to flip but not sure what to do.
Depends on your budget. Chroming is pricey. I'd think you could remove the paint on the SS pieces and polish them. To do it right would require removal. If you're doing it yourself its just your time. I don't remember if the windshield trim was painted on your car but, if it is, to properly restore it requires removing the windshield. I'd agree with Dave, the easiest thing to do would be to go black. Not a big fan of the blacked out trim to begin with. That being said it only works with a couple of body colors and, in my opinion, red is not one of them. It does however look good with yellow.
